What would you do if your brand was financially successful, reputable, and resonated with your audience?
Would you celebrate your achievements, expand your business, or maybe both?
But what if I told you that there might be something standing in your way.
Something that's hindering your progress and preventing you from reaching your full potential.
It's a roadblock in your thought process—a set of myths about that you've been led to believe, and that’s holding you back from achieving greater success.
After being in the industry for 6 years, and talking to 100’s of business owners, and working with clients around the world, I've uncovered the THREE BRANDING MYTHS that can really hurt your business.
These myths are not only wrong, but they are also harmful to your business and your brand.
So, if you're ready to break free from these limiting beliefs, DISCOVER the truth, and how to use it to grow your business, then read till the end.
Branding is not what you think it is…
Branding is one of the most important aspects of any business. It's what sets you apart, makes you memorable, and drives your success.
But it's also one of the most misunderstood concepts in the business world, and these misconceptions are hurting many brands and businesses.
And because of that many people have some false beliefs which are actually hurting their brand and their business.
Myth 1: Branding = company name and logo
This is a very common misconception that many people have.
They think that as long as they have a catchy name and a cool logo, they have a brand.
But that’s not true at all.
Your name and logo are like the cover of a book.
Sure the cover might look good and be eye catchy, but your ENTIRE brand is the whole story inside the book.
Think about it. When you think of Apple, do you ONLY think of their name and logo?
Or do you also think of their products, their design, their customer service, their stores, their ads, their values, their culture, and so on?
All of these elements contribute to Apple’s brand identity and reputation.
They make Apple more than just a name and a logo. They make Apple a brand.
So, don’t make the mistake of thinking that branding is just your name and logo
Because if you continue to believe that branding is just your name and logo, you're missing out on the opportunity to connect with your audience on a deeper level.
You won’t really know what those audience wants, what they think of you, and how you can improve.
As a result you’ll struggle to stand out and differentiate from the competition, especially those that understand what branding really is
Myth 2: Branding = advertising
The second myth that I want to bust is that branding is the same as advertising.
Many business owners think that branding is just a way of promoting their products or services to their customers.
But that’s not true either.
Think of a house.
The foundation (on which the house will be built upon) is the branding.
It needs to be strong to hold the weight of the house. Advertising is the house built upon the foundation
Without a strong foundation, your house will collapse.
Similarly, without a strong brand, your ads will lack consistency, coherence, and impact.
As a result, your marketing efforts will feel disjointed and ineffective.
Myth 3: Branding is only for huge businesses
Some believe that branding is something only big corporations can afford and benefit from.
But that’s not true at all.
In fact, a small to medium businesses NEEDS branding more than large businesses.
Amazon, Apple, or Tesla don’t need to brand, people will buy from them anyways.
Whereas when someone comes across a smaller business, they’ll instantly look at your brand and try to form an opinion and judge you.
“Is this a legit brand or no”
Visuals and first impression speak volume,And investing in a good brand can help that do that.
So, there you have it.
Stop believing branding is the same as having a logo, it’s the same as advertising, and it’s only for huge businesses
These myths are not only wrong, but they are also harmful to your business and your brand.
They are keeping you from growing and reaching your full potential.
