FontJoy
I get that pairing fonts together can be a pain especially when you're not a designer. But, FontJoy is a handy tool that does exactly that. Use the slider to decide the difference in similarity in the fonts and then generate away!
All the fonts used here are from Google fonts so they're 100% free to use.
Happy Hues is a tool that has stunning color palettes as well as guides on how to use them. It is intended for web designers but you can apply the same concepts to your content too!
Phonies
Who doesn't love free illustrations?! Phonies is a stylishly designed pack of 8 illustrations you can use in your designs. It even tells you where the illustration can work well!
3 Quick & Practical Design Tips
Reduce letter spacing
The default letter spacing in fonts can look very amateur. Applying a slight kerning can make a big difference. Anywhere between -10 and -25 should be good.
Use overlays to improve contrast
When you place text on an image readability can be a problem. A good way to solve it is by placing a dark overlay behind the text. This shows the image and makes the text readable too.
Dull text for better readability
Having pure black (#000000) text on a pure white (#FFFFFF) background (and vise versa) can be hard on the eyes to read.
Try making the font color lighter. Use #454545 on white backgrounds and #EBEBEB on black backgrounds.
1 Awesome & Free To Use Font
The font in question is Kage. A beautiful and elegant serif typeface perfect for Headlines and Titles!
